MOVIE THEATER PROPOSAL

I don’t know if I am too late, but…

To the theater chains in the United States (AMC Theatres, Bow Tie Cinemas, Cinemark, Cobb Theaters, Harkins Theatres, Marcus Theaters, Regal Cinemas, etc.), I have a proposition:

The Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic has ravaged your industry, as moviegoers have to go to YOU for you to make money, and the studios send their movies to you to show. All over the country, we have been reduced to small gatherings and social distancing within those groups.

To date, I have not heard for a unified call to abide by a single medical standard — only individual promises to varying health standards. If possible, could your respective organizations meet as a group and decide on high medical standards (based on established medically scientific information and ideas informed by established medical science provided by licensed medical doctors and scientists in the medical field) for your organizations to implement to protect your patrons? That way, it doesn’t matter where the consumer goes, they’ll be safe to watch movies in ANY of your theaters. By that token, they might be encouraged to come back and spend money.

It’s an idea worth floating, but understand this: YOUR LIVELIHOOD AND (possibly) YOUR LIVES DEPEND ON IT. YOUR POLITICS, GENDER, FAITH, RELIGION, CULTURE, PERSONAL BELIEFS, OR NATIONALITY DOES NOT.
